Juvenile Law
Under California law, a minor may be charged with nearly any criminal offense that could be charged against an adult.  However, the juvenile courts are a much “different animal” than the adult courts and operate under an entirely different set of rules and procedures.

For example, juveniles in custody are not entitled to “bail.”  They don’t have a right to a jury.  In certain instances, juveniles can be interrogated by police officers without their parents consent or knowledge.  While the goal in the juvenile justice system favors rehabilitation over punishment, unless your lawyer is knowledgeable and experienced in the juvenile courts, your child will be at a major disadvantage if he or she is not represented by an experienced attorney with knowledge of the juvenile justice system.

Fortunately, Leonard Matsuk has extensive experience practicing before the juvenile courts and has represented hundreds of minors charged with serious felonies and relatively minor offenses over the years.

Additionally, Mr. Matsuk is a past president, a member of the Board of Directors and a volunteer instructor in a widely known and respected Juvenile Diversion Program, known as PROJECT SHORTSTOP.  He is truly interested in the welfare of juveniles arrested and brought before the Juvenile Courts.  His many years of experience representing juveniles charged with serious felony cases, including murder and conspiracy, can give you peace of mind.

Only experienced counsel can advise you and walk you through the maze known as the “juvenile justice system.”

Do not put your child’s welfare and future in the hands of less experienced counsel.
